The first thing you should do after downloading our premium template is go through the included README file. It does not matter if you’re new to Zen Cart or not, the readme file will provide you with tips and admin settings to make the template look really good.

Add Google Maps to Zen Cart contact page (easier method)

A guide on adding Google Maps to the Zen Cart contact page was already posted on August 4, 2009. That earlier guide requires the modification of TWO template files.

Today’s guide will provide you with the steps to achieve the same result, but requires you to edit only ONE template file.

Zen Cart 1.3.9h released – Our Zen Cart templates 100% compatible

Zen Cart 1.3.9h is now available for download from Zen-Cart.com. This version contains security fixes and bug fixes.

Our premium templates and free Zen Cart templates are now 100% compatible with Zen Cart 1.3.9h.

If you’re upgrading from Zen Cart 1.3.9a/b/c/d/e/f/g, just replace the files with the new updated ones, as listed in the “changelog” files in the /docs/ folder of the Zen Cart 1.3.9h installer download.

There are no database updates from Zen Cart 1.3.9a to 1.3.9h.

How to manage product images with Zen Cart

Zen Cart displays images in 3 sizes for each product:

Small - Thumbnail images displayed on the home page and product listing pages.
Medium - Displayed on the individual Product Info page.
Large - Your normal image which is accessed by clicking the ‘larger image’ link on the Product Info page.

There are a few ways to upload and manage your product images. The simplest is by using the admin panel to create your product and upload your image from there — Admin > Catalog > Categories/Products.

You just use the admin to upload one large image and Zen Cart will have the browser display the various sizes for your image — the small thumbnail, the medium size image and the normal large size.

But remember, if you do it this way, all the images displayed (small, medium, large) are actually the same LARGE image. After the image is sent to the user’s browser, it will be rescaled by the browser. This actually will make your site load slower as all thumbnails are actually large images being rescaled at the client side. Also, your thumbnails may look distorted and have jagged edges.

Zen Cart 1.3.9e is now available for download from Zen-Cart.com.

As with version 1.3.9d, this new release is also mainly for bug fixes and some improvements.

Our premium templates and free templates on this site are 100% compatible with Zen Cart 1.3.9e, 1.3.9d, 1.3.9c, 1.3.9b, 1.3.9a and 1.3.8.

We’ve checked ALL the files in our templates and compared them to the original Zen Cart 1.3.9e templates files, to make sure our files are 100% compatible. Whatever files found to be incompatible were updated.

NOTES:
Templates designed for Zen Cart 1.3.8 (or even up to 1.3.9d) may seem to work for Zen Cart 1.3.9e, but some files may have already been updated in Zen Cart 1.3.9e — so there may be problems or security issues.

Some template sellers(affiliates/resellers) may claim the templates on-sale are compatible with Zen Cart 1.3.9, but that may not be the case, as affiliates/resellers may not have access to the original template files. Please check with the original source/creator.

This release is mainly for fixing some bugs and general improvements.

We’ve checked and tested this latest version, and can confirm that now our premium templates on this site are 100% compatible with Zen Cart 1.3.9d, 1.3.9c, 1.3.9b, 1.3.9a and 1.3.8.
